Humans.ai decided to show off its fancy technology at the Boekenbal event - the Dutch Book Week Ball, a yearly shindig in the Netherlands that celebrates the start of the Dutch Book Week.
We wanted to prove that artificial intelligence could sing beautiful music with an AI avatar. So we tasked our team of 3D designers with creating a snazzy synthetic avatar to rock out to a song during the event.
Now, here's the tricky part: we had to train the AI model to understand that that is a song and get the avatar to sing along with the right words at the right time (sync the lip movements and the verses of the song). The first challenge was to make our AI model recognize that the audio it received was a song. After that, the focus shifted to the lyrics of the song and how to train the AI avatar to sing them. To make matters even more challenging, the song was in Dutch. But after days of hard work and dedication, Humans.ai's technology finally cracked the code and understood the music and lyrics like a pro.
With everything in place, it was time for the big moment: the avatar's time to shine! And boy, did it deliver. The avatar sang its digital heart out and gave a truly impressive performance. Don't believe us? Give it a listen for yourself!
